Marine pollution cases with waste from shore Japan 2021, by cause
In 2021, from the 40 confirmed cases of marine pollution with waste from sources on the shore in Japan, the most frequent reason behind the cases was damages or material deterioration with 18 cases, followed by careless handling at ten cases. In that year, the majority of confirmed marine pollution cases in Japan was recorded in the Seto Inland Sea.
