Share of budget expenditure towards rural development in India FY 2024, by state
In financial year 2024, the state of Manipur in India allocated the largest share of its budget to rural development, accounting for approximately 16 percent of the state's total budget. Jharkhand closely followed, with rural development receiving about 13.6 percent of the total budget expenditure. On an average, states are expected to spend five percent of their budget on rural development.
