Scottish opinion: The effects of Eastern European immigration on national identity This statistic shows a distribution of respondents to a survey question designed to find out what those residing in Scotland think about the effects of the immigration of Eastern Europeans. In January 2013, almost the majority (47 percent) believed that an increase in the number of people from Eastern Europe (e.g. Poland and Latvia) living in Scotland would cause Scotland to lose its identity to some extent.
