Number of nights spent by visitors from France in the Netherlands 2008-2020
The number of nights spent by visitors from France in the Netherlands increased by 635,000 nights between 2008 and 2019. In 2008, just over 1.13 million nights were spent in the Netherlands by French visitors, whereas in 2019, visitors from France spent over 1.92 million nights in the Netherlands. Nevertheless, figures experienced a significant decrease in 2020 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Travel restrictions to stop the spread of the virus led to a slowdown in tourist consumption. French tourists spent less than one million overnight stays in the Netherlands that year.
