This statistic shows the environmental sustainability ranking of the Nordic countries in the Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI) in 2017. Environmental sustainability for travel and tourism in this statistic consists of the following: stringency and of environmental regulations, sustainability of travel and tourism industry development, particulate matter (2.5) concentration, environmental treaty ratification, baseline water stress, threatened species, forest cover change, wastewater treatment and costal shelf fishing pressure. In 2017, Norway reached the highest index score of 5.6 in environmental sustainability out of all the Nordic countries.

At one end of the scale, 1 represents the worst possible situation; at the other end of the scale, 7 represents the best. The Survey is administered by the World Economic Forum and conducted at national level by the Forum’s network of Partner Institutes."
