Between 2008 and 2018, the share of Swedes having a very or rather positive attitude toward the European Union fluctuated but increased overall. In 2018, people aged 16 to 29 years considered the EU to be most favorable, with the share amounting to 64 percent. Older generations, especially those aged between 50 and 64 years, were less positive towards the EU, with a share of 48 percent of them favoring the union.
