Perceptions on the European Union 2018 This statistic displays the results of a survey concerning what EU residents think are the main assets of the European Union. Respondents were able to choose a maximum of two answers among the nine available options. According to 34 percent of respondents, the EU's respect for democracy, human rights and the rule of law is one of it's main assets. A further 31 percent of those questioned here think that the EU's economic, industrial and trading power is a main asset, while only 12 percent value the EU's commitment to environmental responsibility above the other assets.
