Southwest Airlines had 258.79 billion available seat kilometers (ASKs) between September 2022 and August 2023. This is the highest number of ASKs registered among low-cost airlines. Ryanair came in second place with around 222.6 billion ASKs during that time.
Available seat kilometers demonstrates an airline's carrying capacity to generate revenue and is measured by multiplying the available seats on any given aircraft by the number of kilometers flown on any given flight.
