In 2020, in-app spending on mobile games per active iPhone in the United States increased by roughly 43 percent year-over-year, with an average of 76.80 U.S. dollars being spent on iOS gaming apps. Users also increased their in-app spending for entertainment apps, passing from an average of 8.10 U.S. dollars in 2019 to an average of 10.20 U.S. dollars the subsequent year. The increase in average in-app spending is due to the global coronavirus outbreak, which led users to rely more on their smartphone devices and mobile apps.
