This statistic shows the result of a survey on how respondents in Indonesia spent their Eid holiday allowance (THR) as of June 2019, by gender. During the period surveyed, about 61.4 percent of female respondents and 59.8 percent of male respondents claimed to have spent it on 'zakat' or 'sedekah', which are donations to the poor. The second-most popular way of spending the holiday allowance for both male and female respondents was to give some money to their family or people closest to them, with 56.2 percent of male respondents and 60 percent of female respondents stating that they did so.
