In 2021, Compañía Minera Antamina was the largest copper producer in Peru, accounting for 20 percent of the copper production in the country. Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde S.A.A. ranked second, with a 18 percent share. That year, copper mine production in Peru reached 2.3 million metric tons.
