Global gas flaring volume change by country 2012-2021

Iran's gas flaring grew by 6.3 billion cubic meters between 2012 and 2021, the largest flaring increase of any country worldwide during that timeframe. By comparison, Nigeria reduced gas flaring by 3 billion cubic meters. Russia is the largest gas flaring country, having emitted 25.41 billion cubic meters in 2021, and the United States flaring 8.79 billion cubic meters.
