Monthly average prices for onion in Egypt 2019-2020
As of July 2020, the monthly average price of onions in Egypt amounted to 5.79 Egyptian pounds (0.37 U.S. dollars) per kilogram, representing a decrease of 8.96 percent compared to June 2020. From January 2019, the mean price of onions fluctuated between 5.79 Egyptian pounds (0.37 U.S. dollars) per kilogram as the lower bound in July 2020 and 9.82 Egyptian pounds (0.62 U.S. dollars) per kilogram as the upper bound in April of the same year. During the period under review, the onion's average price followed a pattern, reaching a peak in April, before dropping again later. Egypt is one of the largest exporters of onions around the world.
