Passenger transportation sector final energy consumption from cars Japan FY 2011-2020
In the fiscal year 2020, the final energy consumption from passenger cars in the passenger transportation sector in Japan amounted to approximately 1.23 thousand petajoules. The amount decreased steadily over the past ten years, compared to almost 1.7 thousand petajoules in fiscal 2011. Within the passenger transportation sector, cars consumed the largest final energy in fiscal 2018, followed by aviation.
