Passenger-distance of commercial-use buses in Japan FY 2012-2021
In the fiscal year 2021, the payload distance of passenger transportation via commercial-use buses in Japan amounted to around 26.96 billion passenger-kilometers, increasing from 22.55 billion in the previous year. Buses are an alternative land transportation system in Japan, supplementing the railway network and presenting an alternative to the Shinkansen bullet trains for long-distance travels.
