Government COVID-19 individual support measures in Iceland 2020, by industry
From March 2020 to December 2020, the Icelandic government offered financial support for individuals hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of almost 24.5 billion Icelandic Krona was distributed between March and December 2020. People working in the accommodation and food industry received the highest amount of support, totaling at 6.6 billion Icelandic Krona. Meanwhile people working in the wholesale and retail trade sector received the second highest amount of support. Employees in the agriculture, forestry and fishing industry received the lowest amount, with 235 million Icelandic Krona in total.
