FMCG sales growth in major retail stores during COVID-19 outbreak in Russia 2020

The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Russia led to a retail sales growth for all product categories, which was especially pronounced during the second half of March 2020. At its highest, the retail sales growth rate of everyday consumer goods in largest stores of the country was recorded during the twelfth week of 2020 at 36 percent, after which it steadily decreased, reaching 8 percent over the latest observed week.
