Share of skiing participants in Japan 2016-2023, by gender
According to a survey conducted in November 2023, 3.1 percent of men and 1.3 percent of women in Japan practiced skiing in the past year. Skiing was in vogue during the 1990s as the Nagano Winter Olympics brought much euphoria (and investments) with regards to winter sports in general and skiing in particular.
