Outbound tourism spending over GDP Vietnam 2012-2020
In 2020, outbound tourism expenditure equaled over 1.6 percent of the GDP in Vietnam, indicating a significant decrease compared to the previous year. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020, Vietnam and many other countries have imposed several restrictions on travel. As a result, tourism expenditure from outbound tourists plummeted in 2020.
