China is the world's leading exporter country of activated carbon. In 2021, the East Asian country exported over 296.4 thousand metric tons of the material, with a value of nearly 456.39 million U.S. dollars. Ranking second was the United States, which exported some 291.38 million U.S. dollars of active carbon. That year, the United States was also the top importing country of activated carbon worldwide, with an import value that amounted to 229.66 million U.S. dollars.
