Leading spaceports in Russia 1957-2021, by launches
Over the period from 1957 to 2021, Russia (and until 1991 the Soviet Union) used the spaceport Plesetsk for the most ground-based orbital launches, at nearly 1.6 thousand. To compare, the number of launches from the cosmodrome Baikonur exceeded 1.4 thousand. Cosmodrome is a common name for a spaceport in Russia and the post-Soviet space.
