In 2022, 26 percent of respondents from a global survey mentioned the requirement of employee and third-party access to the corporate network to be the biggest challenge of Virtual Private Networks (VPN). This obstacle is followed by the high cost of security appliances and infrastructure, highlighted by another 23 percent of respondents.
