Household packaging waste recycling rate in France 2021, by material
In 2021, steel from household packaging waste had a recycling rate of 100 percent in France. Glass and cardboard waste had a recycling rate between 90 and 70 percent. By comparison, the recycling rate of plastic was only 30 percent. In detail, plastic packaging waste had the lowest rate of recycling overall, at only 11 percent. This value is noticeably lower than the average plastic packaging waste recycling rate in the European Union (EU), of almost 41 percent.
