Status of offshore electricity network expansion projects in Germany 2023
Over 2,200 kilometers of new offshore power lines were laid in Germany between 2009 and 2023, connecting offshore wind farms to the onshore electricity transmission grid. The federal strategy for the expansion of the electric power system in the country included around 2,000 kilometers of onshore electricity lines that began operating in the same time frame.
