Denmark was the Nordic country with the highest wholesale electricity price throughout 2023 and 2024. In March 2024, the average day-ahead electricity price in the country amounted to 61.15 euros per megawatt-hour.

Over the past few years, electricity prices soared in the Nordic region, the result of a global energy crisis that affected fossil fuels and electricity prices.
