Global renewable energy investment by sector 2022
In 2022, solar photovoltaics was the renewable technology that accounted for the largest share of investments. Investments in Solar PV amounted to almost 300 billion U.S. dollars that year. Onshore wind energy followed with a total of 140 billion U.S. dollars invested. Meanwhile, investments in geothermal energy stood at roughly 180 million U.S. dollars.
