Outbound journeys of Chinese tourists in 2008-2018

Chinese people are travelling more. In 2018, approximately 162 million outbound journeys of Chinese citizens were registered, 155 million of these were for private reasons. A significant number of the outbound tourists resided in the large cities in the country.

The data include business trips as well as holiday trips, visiting relatives and other reasons for an outbound journey. If the same person travels twice, both trips are counted.
