United Kingdom (UK): National minimum wage (18 to 20) 2010-2019 In 2019 the national minimum wage for people aged between the ages of 18 and 20 years old in the United Kingdom was 6.15 British pounds an hour. Compared with 2010 there has been an increase of 1.23 British pounds for this age group’s minimum wage, an average increase of about 13.6 pence a year.
Expected wage increases after 21
After workers in the UK reach 21 years old, they will start to earn a slightly more, with their minimum wage increasing to 7.70 British pounds an hour. The minimum wage increases again when workers are over the age of 25 to 8.21 pounds an hour, a difference of 51 pence.

Comparisons with the average wage
In 2018 the median hourly earnings for full time workers in the United Kingdom was 14.31 British pounds an hour almost twice as much as what the minimum wage was in the same year. Compared with 2006, the average hourly wage has grown by 3.30 British pounds.
