New industrial trucks have been in high demand in recent years since 2009 and reached a record high of 1.1 million orders globally in 2015. The market for new industrial trucks is projected to continue to grow. In the first quarter of 2016, Europe was the driver of demand with new industrial truck orders of about 111,000. Asia was ranked second with around 107,000 orders, while North America was ranked third with 56,700 orders.
As of 2016, Toyota of Japan took a clear leadership position on the world’s leading lift truck supplier table, based on revenue. The company generated 8.6 billion U.S. dollars in revenue from lift truck sales. The German forklift truck supplier Kion Group came in second with almost 5.9 billion U.S. dollars in revenue.
