In 2004, approximately 208,100 people were direct employees of insurance companies on the British market. By 2010 the number of employees at insurance companies in the UK had dropped significantly to about 111,864. The number of insurance company employees in the UK came to 114,300 in 2020 - around 20,100 employees higher than in 2018, when the lowest employee numbers were recorded.
