Fossil fuel combustion and industrial purposes in South Korea generated 635.5 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions (MtCO₂) in 2022. This was a slight decrease when compared to the previous year. The largest reduction of emissions in South Korea was recorded from 1997 to 1998, when emissions fell 15 percent.
