Furthermore, the number of practicing nurses in Belgium increased by around 35 thousand since the year 2000.

  Belgium’s expenditure on healthcare amounted to 10.8 percent of its’ GDP in 2020. It has been increasing overall since 1980. In comparison to other European countries, Belgium ranked relatively high on the share of GDP spent on health expenditures. Germany had the highest share of expenditure on health, spending 12.8 percent of its GDP in the regarded year.
