Latin America: ratio of life insurance premiums to GDP 2018, by country

Chile was the Latin American country with the highest ratio of life insurance premiums in relation to the gross domestic product (GDP) in 2018. In that year, life insurance premiums written in Chile constituted 2.1 percent of the country's GDP, whereas in Haiti, they amounted to only 0.04 percent.
