It can be seen that the total premium income of reinsurers increased overall during the period under observation, reaching a value of almost 49.8 billion euros as of 2016. The smallest value of income for reinsurance corporations operating during this period was found in 1980, when a value of more than 7.1 billion euros of income from premiums was recorded in Germany.
