U.S. gypsum production volume 2012-2021
In 2021, the United States' production of crude gypsum reached an estimated 23 million metric tons. Gypsum can be used as a fertilizer, a fluxing agent, in paper and textiles, and calcined gypsum is used to produce plaster of Paris.
