The United States produced an estimated total of some 8.1 million metric tons of sulfur in 2021. Around 7.5 million metric tons of that amount was recovered elemental sulfur, while the remaining 600,000 metric tons produced was in other forms. The U.S. is one of the largest producers of sulfur in the world.
