Volume of cargo traffic handled at ports in Helsinki, Finland 2015-2020
The volume of cargo traffic in the ports of Helsinki, Finland increased overall from 2015 to 2020. In 2020, the total volume of cargo handled in the ports amounted to 13.3 million tons. This was a decrease of 8.5 percent from the previous year, but the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic were less severe than initially expected. Figures from 2017 and 2018 are not comparable with earlier years, as the cargo volume in these years also includes the figures of Loviisa and Kantvik harbors.
