Indonesia: reasons for giving in to government officials' demands for bribes 2018

This statistic shows the share of respondents who gave the following reasons for paying up when asked by government officials for bribes in Indonesia as of October 2018. During the period surveyed, 62 percent of respondents indicated that they decided to pay the bribe as they wanted to ensure that their requests and issues were resolved quickly. In comparison, four percent paid up as they thought the amount requested was not a large sum.
