It's the height of the Thanksgiving weekend and countless Americans are relaxing after mammoth trips across the country to visit their families. This time of year is always hectic with flight delays, cancellations and gridlocked roads creating chaos. The last challenge for weary flyers exiting the arrivals terminal is getting from the airport to downtown.
This can take a long time in itself, according to website 538, who set out to explore travel time between airports and U.S. cities. Invariably, they found that a cab or a ride with friends is the fastest way to reach the city centre. In Detroit, the trip downtown takes 2 hours 35 minutes on public transport while a cab would take just 45 minutes.
