GAIL's gas marketing volume FY 2014-2021
As of financial year 2021, the volume of gas marketed per day by GAIL India Limited stood at around 89 million metric standard cubic meter. Formerly known as Gas Authority of India Limited, GAIL operates as a natural gas transmission company in India and internationally.
As of July 2019, the Oil and Steel Ministry of India had instructed GAIL to form a plan to separate its gas marketing and transmission businesses on the pretext of bringing greater transparency in the business and also freeing the government to sell shares.
