Number of people in moderate poverty by ethnicity in Mexico 2018

In 2018, it was estimated that nearly 5 million indigenous people in Mexico lived in moderate poverty, while 38.1 million among the non-indigenous population were considered in that situation. Compared to 2016, the number of non-indigenous Mexican citizens who were in moderate poverty has decreased by 200 thousand.

In addition, it includes people who said they spoke an indigenous language and who were not part of these households.
