Child labor in Sub-Saharan Africa 2008-2020
Africa has the highest incidence of child labor in the world. As of 2020, 23.9 percent of children aged 5-17 years in Sub-Saharan Africa were involved in child labor, according to estimates. Compared to 2012 and 2016, the rate has risen. However, it remained less than that of 2008, when little more than one-quarter of children in Africa experienced child labor.
