Share of undernourished population in Africa 2022, by region
Around 20 percent of the African population was undernourished as of 2022. In that year, undernourishment was most prevalent in Middle Africa and Eastern Africa, where it reached shares of 29.1 percent and 28.5 percent, respectively. Northern Africa was, on the other hand, the region with the lowest level of undernourishment in the continent.
