Indigenous solar cell production volume India 2014-2018
The annualized domestic production of solar cells was over 1,160 gigawatts across India in financial year 2018, which was a significant increase from the previous year. Despite the exponential increase in production volume over the years, it had failed to catch up with the rise in manufacturing capacity of cells and modules which led to the under utilization of the installed capacity of solar installments.
