U.S. election: Democratic Party Iowa caucus results by number of votes 2020

The final vote count for the 2020 Iowa Caucus showed that South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg had a very narrow lead in the Iowa Democratic Party caucus, with 564 State Delegate Equivalents, compared to 562 for Senator Bernie Sanders.

* The votes are State Delegate Equivalents, which are derived from the popular vote in each caucus and are used to calculate how many delegates each candidate receives for the state convention. The winner is therefore considered to be candidate with the most State Delegate Equivalents, as this candidate ultimately will have more votes towards their bid to be the presidential candidate at 2020 national Democratic Party convention.

Only those candidates who received one or more State Delegate Equivalent have been included. The vote share for "uncommitted" and "other" have been excluded.

The Iowa caucus for the Democratic Party serves as the first opportunity for voters to express their preferences for the Party's nomination.
