Business optimism index Singapore Q1 2019-2020

According to a survey of businesses in Singapore, business sentiments for the second quarter of 2020 have decreased by more than 13 percentage points from the first quarter of that year. The sharp drop in the business optimism index was caused by the economic impact caused by the worldwide outbreak of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The UN trade agency estimated that the COVID-19 virus would cost the global economy one trillion U.S. dollars.
