COVID-19 pandemic, Mexico's gross domestic product (GDP) decreased in 2020 in comparison to 2019. The worst hit industry was culture, sports, and recreational services, which showed a decrease of 79 percent in the second quarter of 2020, in comparison to that same period a year earlier. By the fourth quarter of 2020, the industry's GDP decreased by roughly 53.4 percent, in comparison to the same period of 2019. Other strongly impacted industries include lodging and food and beverage preparation services, and the sector including transportation, post, and storage. Health services was the only segment showing economic growth from April to December of 2020.
