Global recycling rate of metal and glass 2023, by region
In North America, approximately 45 percent of metal materials are recycled, while in Europe this figure jumps to some 73 percent. Meanwhile, glass has a recycling rate of about 31 percent in North America, and of 80 percent in Europe. Some materials can be endlessly recycled without losing any of their quality – these materials are known as permanent materials.
