Shipbuilding order volume by country as of February 2020
In February 2020, the Chinese shipbuilding industry only received one new order, for a total of 8,000 compensated gross tonnage (cgt), down from 510,000 cgt in the previous month. Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, which disrupted operations at its shipyards, China now ranks well below South Korea with 200,000 cgt in February.
