Electric power sector's value added to GDP in South Africa 2014-2019
In 2019, the South African electricity, gas and water sector contributed with an added value of approximately 64.6 billion rand (roughly 3.85 billion U.S. dollars) to the country's gross domestic product (GDP). This represents a decrease of over one billion rand in comparison to the previous year, when the sector's added value to the country's GDP added up to approximately 65.9 billion rand.
